A-to-Be awarded with American Chamber of Commerce award

A-to-Be was awarded by the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal with the “AmCham Tributes”.

A-to-Be, having specific recent deliveries and achievements in the US market, was awarded for this year’s tribute. The goal of the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal with the AmCham’s Tributes is to annually honor and distinguish companies that have contributed significantly to enhance the business and commercial relationship between Portugal and the USA.

The winners were officially announced recently, on a formal dinner held at the Ritz Hotel in Lisbon. The event was chaired by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Prof. Dr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and the US Ambassor to Portugal, Mr. George Glass, who congratulated the companies for the strong investments made in the United States, recognizing “the eforts to enhance prosperity on both sides of the Atlantic”.

 

From Portugal to the United States

A-to-Be is Brisa’s newest commercial brand, acting as Brisa group technological company for the mobility market. With a clear vision to become a worldwide reference in mobility solutions, A-to-Be positioned the United States of America as one of its top target market in the internationalization endeavor.
Brisa group has kept a long and continuous relation with the US. Founding Brisa Innovation in the US was crucial to establish a fruitful business relationship network in the fields of mobility and intelligent transportation systems. At the same time, A-to-Be conducted pilot projects and new concepts demonstration for vehicle-to-infrastructure communication in the US, years in advance of today’s mainstream theme of connected and autonomous vehicles. It chose to do so in the US envisioning this market as the leader for major breakthroughs in the mobility and vehicle connectivity.
The business opportunities pursued led to multiple projects won by A-to-Be in the recent past. Similarly, contracts recently won encouraged the official launch of this newest commercial brand A-to-Be in the US market, enhancing and promising strong business and commercial relationships between the countries.

Recent contracts in the United States

  • Northwest Parkway $1.2 million contract, in Denver, Colorado, allowed A-to-Be to apply technological tolling solutions meant for improved operational efficiency, achieving 35% decrease in operational costs, promoting environmental and business sustainable goals.
  • Southern Connector $3 million contract awarded to A-to-Be in Greenville, South Carolina, was the confirmation that the geographical adaptation was perfect and the local companies involvement a success factor, partnering with maintenance and electronics suppliers, giving them training and improving their capabilities and differentiation abilities.
  • Illinois Tollway $33.2 million contract won by A-to-Be in a 2016 tender for automated tolling solutions in Chicago, Illinois, included the supply, installation and warranty services of up to 270 lanes. The success was a direct result of the strategy of partnering with local companies Elite and SPAAN Tech, where technological transfer enabled these to provided manufacturing, implementation and maintenance operations for our solutions.
  • Road Usage Charge (RUC) contract won by IMS Intellimec together with A-to-Be for provision of Washington State RUC pilot’s implementation and operation, using A-to-Be MoveBeyond™ as the mobility back office solution. Following a 6-month period of implementation, this 1-year operation contract is anticipated to go-live during the first quarter of 2018.
